Cats Exclusive Inc., a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, is a no-kill adoption center that helps to improve the quality of life for both people and felines, is holding a fundraising dinner auction gala to raise funds for a new building.

The event will be held March 20 at the South Florida Convention Center located at 6101 NW 31 Street, Margate, FL 33063. The formal/black tie event will commence with cocktails at 7:00 p.m. and the dinner and auction will begin at 8:00 p.m. Reservations are required.

“By purchasing our own building we will be able to take in more cats for adoption and expand our clinic to include help for dogs as well and continue providing quality care at a low cost for everyone,” said Niuvi Liriano, general manager of Cats Exclusive. Renting our facility also voids us from some grants that would really help our programs,” she added.

Since 1979, this no-kill adoption branch has taken in over 5,500 cats and has worked to find them the best homes possible. In 1996, Cats Exclusive, Inc. established the Cats Exclusive Spay/Neuter & Adoption Program (S.N.A.P.). The program has been extremely effective in reducing the number of unaltered free-roaming cats in Broward County. In three years, more than 2000 cats have been spayed and neutered.

Two years later, Cats Exclusive opened the first storefront feline adoption center in Broward County. Here, in a clean, healthy and mellow environment rescued cats and kittens live until they are adopted. More than 375 cats were adopted out in the first year. In September of 2007, Cats Exclusive began doing more for the community and launched a low-cost clinic. Today, Cats Exclusive offers many basic services, including spaying/neutering, vaccines, and micro chipping.

Over 9000 surgeries have been performed in the past two and a-half years to prevent the birth of thousands of unwanted and homeless kittens. The dog population also needs help to prevent the overpopulation of homeless dogs but at this time Cats Exclusive doesn’t have the facilities or the space to handle the requirements of both cats and dogs.

Dinner ticket purchases and donations are tax deductible. If you cannot make it to the dinner but would like to support this cause, please send your contributions to Cats Exclusive, Inc. 6350 West Atlantic Blvd Margate, Florida 33063.
