February 4th, 2012 “Little Red Riding Hood” – 1:30 and 3P.M., at the Weston Community Center., 20200 Saddle Club Rd., the City of Weston and the Professional Puppet Shows present this show for children in pre-K through second grade.

Mondays at Weston, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. “ Kidz with a Voiz” at Weston Town Center. The Bell Tower hosts a performance and vocal camp for local teens  to showcase their  talent. This is a FREE event. Call 954-448-5967

February 8 through February 25th, 2012 the Arts Council of Greater Weston is proud to sponsor the 256th Annual Student Artist Showcase, Weston Library

All art teachers from our local public and private schools to submit up to twelve original works of art they believe represent the exceptional talents of their students.  Last year we exhibited 174 student works from kindergarten through 12th grade representing fifteen Weston area schools. The Student Artist Showcase will be on view from Wednesday, February 8, 2012 through Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Weston Branch Library, 4205 Bonaventure Boulevard, during regular library hours.

Monday, March 12th  – Weston Foreign Film Series – The White Countess Russian Countess Sophia and her family find refuge in Shanghai in 1936. She supports the family by working as a bar girl and taxi dancer, but forms an alliance with a former diplomat, owner of an elegant bar. Their relationship blossoms until they are caught in the fall of the city to the Japanese invasion. Shows will play at 5:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. at the Weston 8 Cinema. Tickets are $7 per film. Saturday, March 17, 2012 8:00PM   Symphony of the Americas – Broadway Goes to the Movies – Cypress Bay Theater, 18600 Vista Park Blvd., Weston, FLAn orchestral journey spanning the continent, from New York to Hollywood featuring beloved music of stage and screen.  Enjoy a presentation of movie clips from such favorites Chicago, Wicked, Evita, Star Wars, Grease, Harry Potter – even a little Disney magic thrown in!  All backed by the lush sounds of the Symphony of the Americas orchestra.  James Brookes-Bruzzese, Artistic Director. Saturday, March 24, 2012 7:00PM – 8th Annual Concert in the Park:  Blue Oyster Cult with The Outlaws – Weston Regional Park, Event Stage, 20200 Saddle Club Road, Weston, FL 33327 FREE Annual Concert in the Park presented by the City of Weston and The Rotary Club of Weston www.westonrotaryclub.com .  Residents are invited to a great rock concert under the stars!  Bring your lawn chairs or blankets for seating and enjoy the great hits of Blue Oyster Cult and The Outlaws.

Blue Oyster Cult spans three decades with a long and storied history, originating in upstate New York and are well known for hits which include “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”, Burnin’ for You”, “Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll” and “This Ain’t the Summer of Love”.  They have sold over 24 million albums worldwide.

Blue Oyster Cult:  Lead vocalist Eric Bloom, guitarist Buck Dharma, guitar/keyboardist Richie Castellano, drummer Jules Radino and bass guitarist Rudy Sarzo.

The Outlaws are a southern rock band originally formed in Tampa, FL.  Well known songs include “There Goes Another Love Song”, Green Grass and High Tides and “(Ghost) Riders in the Sky”.  The Outlaws band is comprised of Henry Paul, Monte Yoho, Chris Anderson, Billy Crain, Randy Threet and Dave Robbins.

 

Sunday, January 28, 2012 – This year, as one of the events FRANOVIK will participate will be the Renaissance Ball to benefit Prestige Club at the Signature Grand, January 28th. “We will be dressing Lady Doris Muscarella and Lord Daniel Kolber. Lady Doris, President of Women of the Roundtable will be honored for her outstanding work in the community for Women of the Roundtable, WRT Charitable Foundation and The Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center. Lady Doris and Lord Daniel will be wearing fashions made from recycled curtains and table runners. The event promises to be a night to remember.
